Long Time Update

Ok, so things didn't go as planned. I was supposed to keep up on this but it went by the wayside. I was scheduled to have Gastric Bypass Surgery in September of this year and found out after my pre-operative appointment that I would have to cancel my surgery as I was pregnant! Imagine that, 7 years of trying, having gone to fertility specialists that said it wasn't possible for me at this time, that there was no way I could get pregnant and WHAM, out of the blue we are blessed with a beautiful miracle. D.J. and I are very excited and happy and cannot wait for our little bundle of joy to get here. We are due 5/14/2008. The really crazy thing is how many in his family are pregnant or were at the same time.

Let me explain this for you. My husband is one of 5 "natural" children with 5-6 more that were adopted. In birth order of the "natural kids" there is Lacey, Jenny, Glory, D.J. then Jeremy. Lacey already has 7 kids (3 hers & 4 her husband's), Jenny had her 2nd child 8/19/07, Glory is due January 2008, and both us and Jeremy's wife (Margarita) are due in May. That's 4 grandchildren in a 9 month period! Boy have we been busy trying to keep up!

I have been knitting so many baby items I think I've forgotten how to knit anything bigger than 6 months old in size!

So needless to say, everything has kind of been put on hold. I am now a member of Ravelry and you can find me under the screen name of DaniKnits. I will be trying to update both it an my blog with pictures and info more often.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and has a wonderfully Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

The beginning

Hello to all,

I've decided to start this as I never seem to be able to keep up with everyone all the time. Maybe now I have a slightly better chance.

I've been a busy knitter lately, I've completed a hat for someone and done 2.75 pairs of newborn socks, with many more to go.

I also have done several baby sweaters and will be starting a website & business sometime in the near future. Hopefully I don't end up with too much on my plate. I will post some pictures in the next few days. Right now I'm sitting on my front porch with the laptop enjoying the night sounds and breeze.

Hope everyone is well!
